the last Adauchi in Japan monument

This place is said to be the place where the last “Adauchi (Avenge)” in Japan took place. In the Edo period, adauchi was praised as it was a proof of being faithful to one’s master or family. People were allowed to kill to avenge their lord’s death provided that they notify to the government. This custom continued until the Meiji period.
