Horikoshi shaku kannon

It is located on the foot of Mt. Tomyo with an altitude of 857m, in the village of Horikoshi where you can overlook the Kinokawa River. The locals call it “ Horikoshi no Kannon-san “. It has been opened as a training hall for Yamabushis (Japanese mountain priests) since the ancient times. The old sasanqua tree in the precincts is a Natural Monument designated by the prefecture.
