Makio san sefuku temple

It is a mountain temple which used to be called Makinosan-ji Temple in the ancient times. It is said that it was founded by Gyo-man Sho-nin from Harimanokuni during the era of Emperor Kinmei. The principal image of this temple is Senju Kannon (the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy with a thousand arms). It is marked as the number 4 temple of the Saigoku Sanju-sansho (Saigoku 33 Kannnon Pilgrimage).
