Yakushoji abandoned temple ruins

The two paths, one old path leading from the south of the Yata mountain pass and another leading from the Kishigawa area, join near the Idakiso shrine and head towards Arida, Hidaka, and Muro. The ruins of Yakusho-ji temple which was opened at the foot of the northern hills of the plain area of Kame-no-gawa are the ruins of the Hakuho-ji. Roof tiles called Sano-haiji styled Nokimaru-gawara have been discovered here. The Yakuho-ji temple mentioned in the “Reiiki” is assumed to be this temple.
