Kainan City Area, Kumano-Kodo, Recommended Spots

Gosho no shiba

You will find it on the back hill of the Jizobu-ji temple. It is said to be the ruins of a temporary lodging palace for Emperor Shirakawa when he visited Kumano. The sea of Kainan is currently a coastal industrial zone, but you can get a great view of the bay of Nataka and Kuroishi, as well as Waka-ura, Saikazaki, Kada, and Tomogashima all stretching far out the Nagusayama. You can also see the Awaji-shima, Shikoku, and the mountains of Rokko, too.
