Akura-no-hama

The Akura-no-hama (beach of Akura) is thought to be Takurasaki which is about 1km south from the Awashima shrine.  There is a monument engraved with a Manyo Waka on this spot.

Kinokuni no Akuranohama no wasuregai wareha wasureji toshiha henutomo

Unlike the Wasure-gai (forgetful clams) on the beach of Akuranohama in Kinokuni, I will never forget you, no matter how long the years goes by.
