Mt. Matsuchi-yama is located on the border between Kinokuni and Yamatonokuni. Many Wakas that describe the emotions of ancient travelers as they passed through this land remain as the Manyo poems.

Starting from the JR Suda Station, the route leads you across Mt. Matsuchi-yama and takes your thoughts back to the time of these ancient journeys had taken place. The route proceeds along the Yamato-kaido, ending at the JR Koyaguchi Station.
